We are all very familiar with plastic gift cards, but imagine the same card without the plastic. The world of gift cards is going virtual. New virtual or eCodes offer the same value of a traditional gift card, but without the physical card. The card is delivered electronically via email and simply printed out by the recipient.
National Gift Card (NGC) came to us with a difficult problem, knowing they wanted to connect to eCode vendor CashStar, but did not know specifics on making that connection happen. We first worked with NGC staff to figure out the requirements of the system. Then we worked with CashStar's engineering/API team to get the specifications.
After understanding the API document from CashStar, we designed a simple system to be part of NGC's new intranet. We started by setting up a secure intranet site and implementing a framework that would not only be used for CashStar, but any future eCode expansion. We worked through a rigorous testing/QA phase with CashStar and upon completion took the system live.
